Local governments start discussion on budget formulation

Balewa–Local governments based in Baglung district have started consultations with stakeholders in course of the formulation of policy and budget for upcoming year.

The first round discussion has been initiated in a way to unveil the policy and programme up to May 25. All municipalities and rural municipalities of the district have started holding discussion in the thematic committee, conducting planning workshop, collecting inputs and recommendations and making internal preparations.

Leela Rana, deputy Mayor of Jaimini municipality, said the consultation has been initiated to elicit inputs and recommendations so as to make the policy and budget practical and well-managed.

The local governments have started consultations on the topics of development plan, internal resource management, revenue and grants, among others.

Likewise, Badigad rural municipality has started discussion within the thematic committee after consultation with stakeholders on annual policy, programme budget, planning and revenue capacity in view of next year budget and policy. ---
