Banks urged for investment in organic production

Surkhet–Bimala KC, spokesperson of Karnali State government and Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperative, urged the banks to spur their investments in organic farming in Karnali. At an interaction organised by the Ministry in Birendranagar on subsidy loan investment, Minister KC asked the financial institutions working in Karnali to flow investments in the area of organic production.

The banks and financial institutions should provide subsidy loan to enable farmers to do organic farming in a commercial way, the minister stressed. Also speaking on the occasion, Gangraram Chaulagain, chief of Jyoti Development Bank Surkhet, underscored the need of devising public awareness building interventions for financial literacy and wise investments. The interaction was organised to create an environment for farmers to receive banking service, said Shiva Narayan Chaudhary, secretary at the ministry. ---
