RSS journalist donates over 100,000 to community hospital building project

Solukhumbu– RSS stringer in Solukhumbu, Bhojraj Karki, has donated over Rs 100 thousand to build a community hospital at Mukli in the district. 


The journalist lends financial contribution to the project relating to the construction of Dudhkoshi Community Hospital at Mukli, the centre of Thulung Dudhkoshi rural municipality. 


According to rural municipality chair Asim Rai, the project is garnering encouraging support from several individuals and organisations at home and abroad and amidst this, journalist Karki provided Rs 122,222 to it and it is obviously inspiration for the entire community to own up responsibility for social welfare causes. 
Karki, who is also the vice chair of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Solukhumbu, serves as the station manager of Radio Solu, the first community radio in the eastern Nepal. 


Rs 11.5 million collected so far for building community hospital 
A fund of Rs 11.5 million has been collected so far for building the Dudhkoshi community hospital. 
The rural municipality is planning to organise a religious programme, Shreemad Bhagawat Saptah Gyan Mahayagya, from March 16-23 for collecting funds for the construction of the hospital and expects to collect Rs 200 million from it. 
The rural municipality has formed a Mahayagya Organising Sub-committee at all its nine wards under the coordination of the ward chair and collecting funds through it. 


Similarly, people from the district and other Nepalis residing in various countries have been contributing money ranging from Rs 50 thousand to more than 100 thousand for this cause. 


The seven local levels including one municipality in the district have each provided Rs 500 thousand for this purpose.
