Kathmandu Metropolitan City to Provide Concessional Loans for Youth Employment

Kathmandu. Kathmandu Metropolitan City is going to provide concessional loans with the objective of creating self-employment programs focused on youth, developing entrepreneurship, and creating employment.

The policy and program for the fiscal year 2083/084 mentions this.  

'Target group-friendly empowerment programs will be conducted for the development of marginalized communities including women, children, the elderly, indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, Dalits, unprotected persons, gender and sexual minorities, single women, and families of martyrs,' said Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol at the first meeting of the 19th session of the Municipal Assembly while publicizing the policy and program. 'The one ward one model program will be institutionalized by ensuring effective implementation and sustainability. Health and counseling services will be provided free of charge at the homes of the elderly and incapacitated citizens by conducting the campaign 'Metropolis with Elderly and Incapacitated Citizens'. Nutritional allowance will be provided to senior citizens who have completed 75 years of age and to fully incapacitated citizens of the metropolis.'  

Similarly, the policy and program also mention that the metropolis will effectively implement the declaration of 'Kathmandu Free from Begging Street-Dependent Humans' in coordination and cooperation with partner bodies and implement the main message of 'City of Humanity', and Kathmandu Metropolitan City will manage to certify and issue certificates for modern and traditional knowledge, skills, and arts.  

"Water bowls will be installed to provide water for birds by conducting bird-friendly practices in the neighborhoods, schools, parks, and communities within the metropolis," the policy and program state. "Special programs will be conducted for respected national figures and the new young generation 'Gen Z, Gen Alpha'. The new young generation will be considered as carriers of good governance and cooperation will be done based on their suggestions and needs."
