Chitwan– A pillion rider died in a road accident at Jutpani of Kalika municipality-8 in Chitwan district this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Sikshya Aryal, 14, of Jutpani of Kalika municipality-8, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.
The accident took place when a bus (Ga 1 Kha 267) heading towards Tanahun from Kalika municipality carrying people for marriage procession hit a motorcycle (Na 58 Pa 6385) while crossing road.
Motorcyclist Chandra Bahadur Bhatta, 49, of Bharatpur metropolitan City-9, and pillion rider were injured in the accident and pillion rider Aryal died in course of treatment at Old Medical College. The injured motorcyclist is also receiving treatment at the same hospital, said police.
Police have arrested the bus driver and impounded the vehicle.
