Two injured due to police beating

Baglung– Two people have sustained injuries due to beating by police. They are Som Basnet and Krishna Khatri of Galkot Municipality-6. 

Police constables Prem Bista and Buddha Thapa at Hatiya Police Post allegedly thrashed them. Basnet, who was seriously injured due to the beating, is being treated at the ICU at Phewa City Hospital in Pokhara. 

Basnet and Khatri came under police attack in front of the police check post at local Hatiya Bazar on Sunday night. Khatri is said to be in normal health. 

Basnet’s wife has demanded investigation into the incident and action against the guilty policemen. Bista and Thapa, the two police constables said to involved in the beating have been transferred to the Area Police Office, Harivhaur. Police Inspector Keshab Singh Thapa said investigation has been initiated into the incident.
