Writ petition filed demanding emergency in flood-hit area

Kathmandu - A writ petition has been filed at Supreme Court demanding the announcement of a state of emergency in the flood-hit areas in view of huge loss of lives and properties due to landslides, flood and inundation.

Advocate Sunil Ranjan Singh filed writ petition demanding that the government accelerated rescue and relief distribution by announcing emergency in the flood-hit districts.

The SC order is demanded for immediate management of food, shelter, medicine.
