Kathmandu – In the opening match held today under sixth round of ongoing Martyrs Memorial 'A' division league, the Armed Police Force Club beat the New Road Team (NRT) to win the match by 2-1.
The match was held at the Satdobato-based All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) ground. With this victory, the APF has collected seven points, advancing to the seventh position on the league table.
In the previous matches held till the fifth round, the APF had registered a single victory with one draw. In today's match, APF players Yuba Raj Lama and Sudip Shikharkar scored one goal each to the team. Yubaraj hit the net in the fifth minute of the match and Sudip followed him in the second half.
A goal by the APF was equalized by NRT’s Rajesh Pariyar in less than 10th minute of the match. APF’s Sudip scored in the 73rd minute which was the deciding goal as NRT efforts to equalize it failed. The NRT is at the bottom of league chart with one point.
The Manang Marshyangdi is in the topmost position of the league table with 15 points and it is being followed by Tribhuvan Army, 13 points, and the Three Star, 12 points.
