Flooding damages paddy plantation at over 45 bigaha land in Udayapur

Gaighat (Udayapur) - Local people residing along the banks of local Lalsisuwa khola and Setikhola in the district have been displaced as the swollen river entered and inundated the settlement. They have been rushed to safer places. 

Likewise, flooding has damaged paddy plantation in more than 45 bigaha farmland at Gaighat Municipality-4 and 5 in the district. 

Swollen Sisuwa river entered Sisuwakhola area, inundated farmlands and destroyed crops grown in more than 25 bigaha of land, said local resident Dipak Pariyar. 

Electricity supply has also been disconnected in the area after flooding destroyed an electricity pole. They were struggling to launch rescue operation and collect damage details due to incessant rains, said Police Inspector Subash Rai.
