Ratopul bridge in Dhanusha sinks

Mahendranagar (Dhanusha)- The Ratopul bridge linking Dhanusha and Mahottari along the East-West Highway has sunk some 4 to 5 inches and heavy vehicles were restricted to ply on it.

The bridge is one of the major bridges of East-West highway in Tarai region. According to DSP, Shalikram Sharma, they were planning to carry out technical checking of the bridge whether to allow heavy vehicles or not.

The vehicular traffic along the highway at that point managed through a diversion constructed near the bridge was also stopped due to huge flow of water in the river.
