US Strikes Iran's Revolutionary Guard Structures After Drone Attack

After the death of US soldiers in an attack on a US military base in Jordan, the US has retaliated by launching airstrikes on the military structures of Iran's paramilitary force 'Revolutionary Guard' on Sunday. This incident has further escalated US-Iran tensions amidst the ongoing conflict centered around the Strait of Hormuz.

The US has taken retaliatory action during Iran's ongoing attack campaign targeting its partner nations in West Asia. Military clashes between both sides have intensified again after the interim understanding for ending the war failed.

The US is attacking bridges, electricity infrastructure, and other strategic structures within Iran, while Iran has stated that it has launched a counter-attack targeting power and desalination plants in Kuwait. The United Arab Emirates has increased security vigilance after Iran warned of further expanding the scope of its attacks.

According to the US military's 'Central Command', the attack targeted Iran's coastal surveillance and air defense systems, naval capabilities, and missile and drone storage sites. According to the statement, for the first time in this campaign, 'Revolutionary Guard' structures were directly targeted.

Videos released by the US military show the use of fighter jets and 'Tomahawk cruise missiles' fired from the sea. One target has been identified as a military base located in a mountainous area. It is said that the Revolutionary Guard often keeps its missiles and other military equipment in mountain tunnels and bases.

Iran has not released detailed information about the damage caused by the US attack. The ongoing conflict centered around the Strait of Hormuz has entered its eighth day. As about one-fifth of the world's oil and natural gas is transported through this waterway, the security of this region is considered important for the global economy.

According to the US military, two American soldiers were killed, one went missing, and four were injured in Iran's attack on the military base in Jordan.

The US side has stated that 16 American soldiers have been killed and more than 430 have been injured since the war began. According to Iranian officials, at least 50 people have been killed and more than 500 have been injured in the latest US attack.
