Federal Parliament Secretariat Urges Members to Submit Asset Details

Kathmandu. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has urged the members of both houses of the Federal Parliament to submit their asset details for the fiscal year 2082/083. The Parliament Service Management Branch of the Secretariat issued a notice on Monday directing them to submit their asset details within the stipulated time as per the legal provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 and the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority Act, 2048.

According to the notice issued, members of parliament must submit an updated statement of assets owned by themselves or their family members, along with their sources and evidence (proof), within 60 days of the end of the fiscal year 2082/083, i.e., from Shrawan 1, 2083 to Bhadra 29, 2083.

There is a legal provision that individuals holding public office must compulsorily submit their asset details within 60 days of the end of the fiscal year. There is also a provision for action to be taken as per the law against those who do not submit the details on time.
