Congress Syndicate Meeting on Koshi Government Concludes Without Decision After Central Leadership Directive

Biratnagar. The Congress provincial-level syndicate meeting, convened to make a decision regarding the Koshi government, concluded without any immediate decision following a directive from central leaders. The meeting had decided to recall ministers from the current government led by UML leader and Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki.

The meeting, chaired by Congress Koshi Province President and party leader Uddhav Thapa, decided to assign Thapa and central committee member and provincial assembly member Amrit Aryal the responsibility of communicating with the center.

Speaking after the meeting, party leader Thapa stated that the cooperation with UML has now ended. 'Cooperation has ended. We are now discussing three options,' he said, 'We have the options of trying to cooperate with UML further, uniting with NCP, or staying in opposition.'

Meanwhile, the decision to immediately recall ministers was halted while the syndicate meeting was in progress. 'No decision was made due to a call from central leaders,' Thapa said, 'We will hold another meeting and make a decision after the central committee makes a decision and sends it.'

The syndicate meeting was attended by Deputy Leader Himal Karki, Chief Whip Gopal Tamang, Joint General Secretary Umesh Thapa, leaders and assembly members Amrit Aryal, Gyanananda Mandal, Maiya Shrestha, among others.

From Congress, Infrastructure Minister Pradipkumar Sunuwar, Health Minister Manbahadur Limbu, Tourism Forest and Environment Minister Bhim Parajuli, Industry Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Israel Mansuri, and Physical State Minister Shobha Chemjong are participating in the government.
