Sarlahi Man Dies After Attempted Self-Immolation

Kathmandu. Saralahi's Vivek Yadav, who attempted self-immolation, has died during treatment. Director of the hospital, Dr. Kiran Nakarmi, informed that Yadav passed away at 2 AM at the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur. Mandal, who was brought to Kathmandu by helicopter on Friday, was admitted to the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur at around 7:30 PM. Mandal had set himself on fire by sprinkling petrol. According to relatives, Vivek, who had an MSc in Biology, had been under mental stress for a year. Vivek used to teach at a school in Ramnagar. The school administration appointed another person in Vivek's place. Because of that, he had been unemployed for the past year. Vivek's sister-in-law Shanti Devi Mandal said, 'He had been at home for a year. He had started taking mental stress. Suddenly, on Friday afternoon around 12 PM, he attempted self-immolation at the Sisautiya Bazar Chowk.'
