One Dead, Two Injured in Jajarkot Landslide

Jajarkot. One person has died in a landslide caused by continuous rain in Ransi, Ward No. 2 of Bheri Municipality, Jajarkot district. 67-year-old Jayshila Shah died on the spot when debris fell on a temporary hut in Ransi, burying her. The tin temporary hut was constructed with a grant of fifty thousand rupees provided by the government for post-earthquake reconstruction. The deceased's daughter, 40-year-old Menuka Shah Thapa, and granddaughter, 7-year-old Tika Thapa, were injured in the landslide. They were rescued by local residents. Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team of 5 people under the command of Police Assistant Inspector Prem KC from the Ransi Police Post was dispatched to the scene. The police team reached the scene and secured the area.
