US Forces Strike Iranian Targets

Washington DC. The US Army carried out airstrikes on approximately 140 Iranian military targets on Sunday morning. This is the third phase of military action carried out within this week. According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the strikes targeted Iranian missile and drone bases, naval capabilities, ammunition storage centers, communication networks, and coastal surveillance sites.

In a statement released via social media platform X, CENTCOM claimed that over 300 targets were destroyed in the attacks conducted over three nights this week. The action was taken under the direction of the US President with the aim of weakening Iran's ability to attack commercial ships and civilian maritime traffic.

Earlier, CENTCOM had stated that the latest attack followed an incident involving a container ship traversing the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that warning shots were fired at a ship attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz using an unauthorized route.
