Home Remedies to Keep Ants Away From Sugar Jars

• Bay leaf and cinnamon will work wonders

Ants do not like the strong smell of bay leaves. Keep 2 to 3 clean and dry bay leaves in the sugar jar; its smell will keep ants away. Replace the old leaves from time to time so that their fragrance remains. Also, sprinkle a little cinnamon powder around the kitchen drawer or where sugar is kept. Its smell can help keep ants away.

• Cloves and cardamom are also effective

The strong smell of cloves and cardamom also helps keep ants away. You can keep 2 to 3 cloves around the sugar jar or inside the lid. This will prevent ants from coming near the jar. Keep either cloves or cardamom in the jar, and you won't see a single ant during the rainy season.

• Always keep the jar dry

Humidity is the biggest reason during the rainy season. Therefore, always use a dry and clean spoon when taking out sugar. Putting a cold or wet spoon makes the sugar moist, which attracts ants quickly.

• Use an airtight jar

Always keep sugar in a good quality airtight jar. If the lid does not close properly, ants can easily get inside. Do not forget to close the jar immediately after use.

• Clean with vinegar

Where ants are seen repeatedly, clean with a mixture of white vinegar and water in equal proportions. This removes the ant's scent trail. Ants follow the same scent trail to come.

• Camphor will be beneficial

If the sugar jar is completely filled with ants, camphor can help you with this. Immediately buy camphor from the store and keep it in the jar. But be careful, do not close the jar completely; leave it slightly open. Otherwise, the ants will die inside, and it will be difficult for you to remove them from the sugar.

• Keep the kitchen clean and tidy

Clean the kitchen slab, rack, and floor every day. Even small particles of sugar or sweet foods can attract ants. Therefore, pay special attention to cleanliness.
