One Dead in Oxygen Cylinder Explosion in Moving Vehicle in Makalbari

Kathmandu. One person has died in an oxygen cylinder explosion in a moving vehicle in Makalbari, Kathmandu.

Bishnu Thapa, 46, a resident of Makalbari, died when a cylinder exploded and its fragments hit him.

A large crowd has gathered at the scene after the accident, and the Nepali Army and Nepal Police have increased security and surveillance to control the situation.

According to SP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range Kathmandu, the oxygen cylinder suddenly exploded in the vehicle moving on the road. While doing so, Thapa, who was walking on the road, was hit by a fragment of the cylinder.

Thapa, who was seriously injured by the cylinder fragment, was immediately taken to Nepal Medical College in Jorpati for treatment. However, he died during treatment at the hospital, the police said. The Boudha Police Circle is further investigating how the cylinder exploded in the moving vehicle.
