DSP Prasanna Raj Chaudhary Summoned by District Police Office Kailali Over Public Statement

Dhangadhi. Police Deputy Superintendent DSP Prasanna Raj Chaudhary of Ilaka Police Office Sukhhad has been summoned to the District Police Office due to remarks made at a public program in Kailali.

The District Police Office Kailali stated that DSP Chaudhary was called to the district to gather information and conduct necessary inquiries about the statements he made at an anti-drug awareness program organized in Darkha, Ghodaghodi Municipality-5.

According to Superintendent of Police SP Narendra Chand, the chief of the District Police Office Kailali, DSP Chaudhary was called to the district for counseling on other matters. He stated that after the video went viral, inquiries would also be made about the statements made in the video.

"We had called him for counseling and discussion on other matters. There were some related issues. In the meantime, the video went viral. Therefore, we will also understand the statements made in the video," he said.

Speaking at the program, DSP Chaudhary had said that the Nepal Police is not an organization of any individual or political leadership but an institution that works according to the law.

"We are not Balen's police, we are Nepal Police, we are Nepali police who provide justice to those who have faced injustice and oppression, this is the police that jailed KP Oli, this is the police that says Badri cannot be President," he had said.

In the video, after he requested applause if his statement was liked, students present at the program were seen clapping. During that time, he also expressed the view that he entered the police service through a competitive process and that the police organization operates according to legal procedures, not political grounds.

DSP Chaudhary's request not to make the video of his speech at the program public was also heard in the video. However, the video was made public on social media.
