Brother-in-law Kills Sister-in-law in Morang

Biratnagar. In Gramthan Rural Municipality of Morang, a brother-in-law brutally murdered his own sister-in-law by attacking her with a khukuri.

Souchan Khawas, 21, a resident of Jhowabani, Ward No. 6 of Gramthan Rural Municipality, murdered his 20-year-old sister-in-law Seema Rajwanshi by attacking her with a sharp weapon, a khukuri.

According to the District Police Office, Morang, Souchan attacked Seema, wife of Kapil Khawas, with a khukuri on the neck around 8:30 PM on the night of Ashad 22. Police said that Seema, who was seriously injured by the khukuri attack, died on the spot. The reason for the attack has not been clarified yet.

During the same incident, 44-year-old Shivlal Khawas, who is related as a paternal uncle, also got injured while trying to save her. He sustained a deep injury on his right shoulder and has been sent to a local medical center for treatment.

As soon as the incident was reported, a police team was deployed to the scene under the command of Police Sub-Inspector Motiraj Dahal from the Itahari Area Police Office and Police Inspector Rajiv Giri from the Belbari Area Police Office. Police have taken Khawas, involved in the murder, under control.

He has been kept at the Belbari Area Police Office for further investigation, informed Morang Deputy Superintendent of Police Santosh Shrestha.
