Agriculture Minister Assures Easy Availability of Chemical Fertilizers for Paddy Crops

Kathmandu. Agriculture, Forest and Environment Minister Gita Chaudhary has claimed that chemical fertilizers required for paddy crops will be easily available. Clarifying the necessary fertilizer for paddy crops during the discussion on the allocation title of her ministry in the National Assembly meeting on Tuesday, she stated that the fertilizer has been arranged. She also informed that contact persons have been arranged in the concerned federal and provincial ministries to listen to complaints regarding the lack of fertilizer. Minister Chaudhary also said that the Ministry of Finance has assured that there will be no shortage of budget for fertilizer. Speaking in the house, Minister Chaudhary said, 'Currently, there are 95,000 metric tons of fertilizer in stock. And an additional 50,000 metric tons will be supplied soon through G2G. Thus, the necessary fertilizer for the paddy season appears to be easily available. I want to inform the honorable members that the Ministry of Finance has committed to providing additional budget if needed to ensure there is no shortage of budget for fertilizer supply. I also inform you that the action plan for fertilizer supply and management for the upcoming financial year has also been prepared. Contact persons have been arranged in the federal ministry and provincial ministries to listen to complaints about the distribution and availability of chemical fertilizers.' Minister Chaudhary has also expressed commitment that the government will not let there be any shortage of improved seeds required for the farmers.
