Minister Claims Hetauda Textile Industry to Operate Soon

Kathmandu. Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Gauri Kumari, has claimed that the Hetauda Textile Industry will come into operation within a few months. She said this on Tuesday while responding to questions raised by the members of the National Assembly on the allocation titles of her ministry. Minister Kumari also clarified that a budget of 33 lakh rupees has been released from the Ministry of Finance for the repair of the industry and the work is underway. She stated that the government has given special attention to advancing the industry. While responding in the house, Minister Kumari said, 'I had written to the Ministry of Finance for the release of a budget of 33 lakh for the Hetauda Textile Industry, which has been released and has reached the industry. The repair work there has also started. I want to assure you that this industry will come into operation within a few months. The government is implementing plans with priority to reduce the trade deficit, and we request the US government to extend the period of duty-free and quota-free facility under the Nepal-US trade agreement, as its term has expired.' Minister Kumari also mentioned that the government is working with special priority to reduce the country's trade deficit.
