Nepali Congress Deuba Group Meeting Begins

Kathmandu. The meeting of the Nepali Congress's Sher Bahadur Deuba group has started at the contact office in Chunadevi. The meeting of the office bearers and members elected from their group in the 14th General Convention, as well as former office bearers and members, has started under the chairmanship of former acting president Purna Bahadur Khadka.

According to leader Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, the meeting will discuss how to proceed with the internal dispute within the party. The group's contact office was formally brought into operation by holding a meeting from Monday.

Dr. Mahat informed that the leaders present in Kathmandu will hold a meeting at the contact office today. "The work of painting the house was going on before. Now it is ready. Today we are gathering at the office and holding a meeting," said Dr. Mahat. 

After the expanded meeting, the group has prepared to hold a national gathering in Kathmandu. However, the group states that the establishment side should advance a thorough discussion on the demands before that gathering.

Although discussions have been held between both sides on the internal dispute seen in Congress recently, no conclusion has been reached. The establishment has been stating that the statute is an obstacle in addressing the demands put forward by the other group. 

The other group has been accusing party president Gagan Thapa of not being serious about the demands they have raised.
