Speaker Directs Government to Respond to MPs' Concerns and Prepare for Disasters

Kathmandu. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has directed the government to respond to the contemporary questions raised by the MPs in the meeting of the House of Representatives. On Monday, in the meeting of the House of Representatives, Speaker Aryal alerted the government to pay attention to the serious and important issues of public concern raised by the MPs during the emergency and zero hour. He also directed to inform the House about the preparedness for potential natural disaster management. The Speaker gave the said directive in the context of the MPs continuously alerting the government on contemporary issues through the House. Announcing the directive in the meeting, he said, 'I direct the Government of Nepal to respond regarding the serious issues raised by the honorable members and to inform about the actions taken to minimize the loss of life and property due to floods, landslides, and inundation in various parts of the country and in the context of disaster management preparedness.' The Speaker has especially emphasized that the government should inform the parliament about the preparations and future plans being made to minimize the potential damage as the monsoon-related risk period approaches.
