Badimalika Municipality Wards 1 and 7 Declared Chhaupadi Goth-Free

Bajura. Wards 1 and 7 of Badimalika Municipality in the district have been declared Chhaupadi Goth-free wards.

Deputy Mayor Nanda Thapa recently declared those wards as Chhaupadi Goth-free wards at a program organized.

Minimum standards must be met to declare a ward Chhaupadi Goth-free. According to Keshari Rokaya, head of the Women and Children and Senior Citizens Branch of Badimalika Municipality, both wards of the municipality have been declared as Chhaupadi Goth-free wards.

Ward Secretary of Ward No. 7, Sarita Thakulla, informed that the wards were monitored through the Deputy Mayor with Women program operated by the Women and Children Branch, and after orientation on the Chhau practice, they were declared Goth-free.

According to her, the ward was formally declared a Chhaupadi Goth-free ward in a program, creating an environment for women to stay at home during menstruation.
