Erling Haaland Scores Crucial Goal as Norway Secures Historic Knockout Win in FIFA World Cup 2026

In this situation, the question arises as to how far Haaland's statistics might go. He can be compared to the all-time leading international goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo. 

Ronaldo has scored 145 goals in 231 matches for Portugal. This means a goal every 1.59 matches. Haaland has scored a goal every 0.88 matches. By this calculation, Haaland could reach Ronaldo's record in his 128th match. 

If Norway plays about 10 matches a year, Haaland could reach Ronaldo's record by the age of 32. If Norway qualifies for all major tournaments until 2040 and Haaland plays all the matches, he could score 260 international goals by the age of 41. Although this is just an estimate, for now, Haaland is Norway's best Viking.
