One Arrested with 35 iPhones and Motorcycle Smuggled from India

Bhairahawa. Police have arrested one person with 35 iPhones worth Rs 2.05 million and a motorcycle being smuggled into Nepal from Kotahimai Rural Municipality in Rupandehi.

The arrested is Pawan Kumar Murav, 36, a resident of Ward No. 2 of Kotahimai Rural Municipality in Rupandehi.

Police became suspicious of the Indian motorcycle with the number 'UP 53 DX 8838' driven by Murav in Beninagar, Ward No. 5 of Kotahimai Rural Municipality, and during inspection, 35 iPhones of various models smuggled from India without customs were recovered. The estimated value of the recovered iPhones is Rs 1.97 million.

A total of Rs 2.05 million worth of goods, including the Indian motorcycle worth an estimated Rs 80,000 driven by Pawan Kumar, were recovered. Police have taken the recovered iPhones, motorcycle, and driver Murav into custody and are further investigating the incident.
