Traffic Disrupted on Major Highways Due to Rain and Road Maintenance

Kathmandu. Traffic services have been affected on various major highways due to ongoing rain and road maintenance across the country. According to data from the Nepal Police as of 9 AM today, some road sections in the Koshi, Bagmati, and Sudurpaschim regions are completely blocked, while traffic is operating only one-way in some places.

The Mechi Highway in Ilam Municipality-9, Rajduwali, has been completely blocked since June 27 due to a landslide. The Mid-Hill Highway in Bhojpur Municipality-5, Bokhim, is affected by floods but is currently operating one-way. An alternative route has also been arranged there.

Traffic has been halted on the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi section of the BP Highway due to the risk of potential floods. This obstruction has been in place since June 5.

The Kulekhani-Phakhel-Humane-Pharping Kathmandu road section has been completely closed for road maintenance work. This road section is informed to remain closed for approximately 1 month.

Traffic has been completely disrupted on the Mid-Hill Highway in Panchdeval Vinayak Municipality-4, Panikhola, due to a landslide today.
