Madhesh Province Sees 7,317 Vehicle Accidents in 11 Months, 485 Deaths

Rautahat. In the eleven months of the current financial year, 7,317 vehicle accidents occurred in Madhesh Province, resulting in 485 deaths. Similarly, 10,957 people were injured. 

However, the number of deaths and injuries has decreased compared to the same period in the previous financial year, according to the Province Traffic Police Office, Pathalaiya.

According to DSP Navraj Neupane, spokesperson for the Provincial Traffic Police Office, Pathalaiya, most accidents are caused by human negligence. He said, 'Although the number of accidents is still high, the decrease in the number of deaths and injuries is a positive sign. To reduce accidents, we have further enhanced traffic awareness among drivers, passengers, and the general public, strictly enforced traffic rules, and increased regular monitoring.'

According to the office, out of the 7,317 accidents that occurred by the end of Jestha in the current financial year, 7,200 accidents were due to human negligence.

In the last financial year, 7,443 vehicle accidents occurred in Madhesh Province, resulting in 564 deaths and 12,123 injuries. The data shows a decrease of 32 in the number of deaths and 155 in the number of injured in the eleven-month comparative period of the current financial year.

Significant revenue has also been collected from action against vehicles violating traffic rules. In the current financial year, by the end of Jestha, action was taken against 100,859 vehicles, collecting a revenue of 10 crore 13 lakh 18 thousand 159 rupees. Similarly, action was taken against 633 vehicles through the Transport Management Office, collecting a revenue of 1 crore 12 lakh 46 thousand 599 rupees, according to the Province Traffic Police Office.
