Weather Forecast: Monsoon Influence and Potential Rainfall Across Nepal

Kathmandu. Currently, monsoon winds are influencing some parts of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, some parts of Gandaki province, and the eastern parts of Lumbini province. The rest of the areas are partially influenced by westerly and local winds.

Due to this influence, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces are generally experiencing cloudy skies. Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces' hilly and Himalayan regions are generally cloudy. The Terai region of Sudurpaschim province is mostly clear.

This afternoon, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, along with the Terai region of Koshi province, will generally be cloudy. The Terai regions of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will be partly cloudy. The Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces will remain mostly clear. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in some parts of the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in some parts of the Terai region of Koshi province, and in one or two places in the Terai regions of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. There is a possibility of heatwaves in some parts of the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and hot days in some parts of the Terai regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with the Terai region of Koshi province, will generally be cloudy. The Terai regions of Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, will be partly cloudy. The Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces will remain mostly clear.
