Tanker Carrying 20,000 Liters of Petrol Stolen from Nepal Oil Corporation Parking Lot in Biratnagar

Biratnagar. A tanker carrying 20,000 liters of petrol has been stolen from the parking lot of the Nepal Oil Corporation's regional office in Biratnagar.

The tanker, number Ko 1 Kha 6190 of Naveen Transport Service, which was parked, was stolen last night. During the search, the tanker was found this morning on the Hulasi road section in Bardju, Sunsari. The tanker is currently under the control of Sunsari police.

According to tanker owner Naveen Karna, the tanker contained 20,000 liters of petroleum products. It had loaded oil from Siliguri, India, and entered the parking lot at 8 PM on Sunday. The tanker was placed in the queue (line) of the corporation. 'We were all in training at the Oil Corporation, and only found out the vehicle was missing around 8:30 AM,' said Karna. He stated that the tanker might have been stolen while the drivers were in training.

Karna said that preliminary measurements indicate that about 1,000 to 1,200 liters of oil were stolen from the tanker. 'There were 20,000 liters of oil, and now, based on measurements, it is estimated that about a thousand to twelve hundred liters of oil might be missing,' he said.

On Tuesday, preparations are being made to bring the tanker to the depot after preparing a report in the presence of the District Police Office Morang, transport representatives, and corporation officials. Pushkar Karki, chief of the Nepal Oil Corporation Koshi Regional Office Biratnagar, also confirmed the theft of the tanker.
