US Vice President JD Vance Hopes for Major Deal with Iran Through Talks

Switzerland. US Vice President JD Vance has said that a major deal could be reached through talks with Iran. He accused Iran of causing instability in the region but expressed hope for good results from the talks.

He said that there has been considerable progress in the talks with Iran in Switzerland. "Peace can be achieved through talks and the path to regional stability can be opened," he said.

Representatives of the United States and Iran held talks in Burgenstock, Switzerland on Sunday. US Vice President JD Vance was the chief negotiator on behalf of the United States.

He said, "President Donald Trump has given the US delegation the authority to find diplomatic solutions to various issues. We have an opportunity before us to change relations in West Asia forever. We are confident. This is possible if the efforts of the talks bear fruit."

In Burgenstock Resort near Lucerne, Switzerland, US and Iranian negotiators met on Sunday for technical discussions. During this, JD Vance said, "President Trump is committed to bringing about a ceasefire in the entire region. He has given us the authority to seek diplomatic solutions to many issues. He has instructed the team to start a new relationship with the Iranian people in Washington."

Vance added, "This dialogue is an unprecedented moment in the diplomatic history of both countries. Technical discussions may not resolve all differences, but they have given us the opportunity to talk directly as negotiating teams for the first time in history. We are trying to bring about change in the Middle East through diplomacy."

Meanwhile, the meeting held on Sunday shared the topics of discussion and was adjourned with another meeting scheduled for Monday.
