Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Lingden Claims Balen Shah Will Bring Monarchy

Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has stated that the public voted for Balen Shah on February 21, believing he would bring back the monarchy. Speaking as a guest of honor at the inaugural session of the Rastriya Swatantra Party's (RSP) first general convention in Bharatpur, Chitwan, Chairman Lingden said that the vote for a monarchy in Nepal was cast in the general elections, and that vote went to the RSP. "There is a vote for a monarchy in Nepal. The party that wants a monarchy in Nepal is RPP," Lingden said, "But you have voted not for RPP, but believing Balen will bring back the king." He also stated that the problem in Nepal lies not only with the leaders but also with the constitution and the structure.
