One Arrested with Over 17kg of Marijuana in Udayapur

Udayapur. Police have arrested one person with more than 17 kilograms of marijuana in Katari, Udayapur. On Saturday morning, the person was taken into custody by a team deployed from Risku Police Post on the inner road section of Bainaj Bridge in Ward No. 6 of Katari Municipality.

When the police tried to stop a motorcycle with an unknown number coming from Udayapurgadhi towards Katari, the driver fled without stopping the vehicle. In the process, the pillion rider, 30-year-old Nar Bahadur Pulami Magar, a resident of Bountar, Ward No. 6 of Udayapurgadhi, currently living in Simle, Katari-4, fell from the motorcycle. He was taken into custody by the police on the spot along with 17.040 kg of marijuana he was carrying while still falling from the moving vehicle.

The search for the driver who fled with the motorcycle after seeing the police has been intensified. Police said that further investigation into the incident is underway with the arrested Magar kept in the custody of the Area Police Office, Katari, Udayapur.
