Neer Shah Awarded Best Actor at National Film Awards

Kathmandu. Veteran artist Neer Shah has been declared the best actor. Shah received the award for his performance in the film 'Paran' at the 'National Film Award and Honour Ceremony 2083' held at the President's Office, Shital Niwas, on Friday.

In the same program, Miruna Magar succeeded in winning the award for Best Actress. She received this award for her performance in the film 'Unko Sweater'. The film 'Unko Sweater' managed to dominate three main categories including Best Film. Naveen Chauhan, the director of this film, also received the award for Best Director.

'Paran' film's Deepak Prasad Acharya and Yam Thapa won in the Best Writer category. In the technical category, 'Koshedunga' made its mark. For that film, Babu Shrestha received the award for Best Cinematography and Nahakul Khadka received the award for Best Editing. The award for Best Indigenous Film was won by the Nepali language film 'Indira Dhime Maicha'.

Under the special category, Ana Sharma for 'Ramita ko Pirati' and Bimochan Dawadi for 'Jhari Pachhi ko Indreni' received the Jury Encouragement Award, while Jyoti Raj Rai's production 'Nakchong' received the Special Film Award.

Various Personalities Honored

Various personalities who contributed to the Nepali film sector were also honored at the award ceremony. These included actress Menuka Pradhan, Laxmi Bardewa, Anjila Subba, producer Binod Sherchan, Dr. Singh Gurung (producer/distributor), actor Rohit Rumaba, director Avinash Bikram Shah, film distributor Bishnugopal Shrestha, journalist Prakash Subedi, and production manager Shankar Pandey.

Furthermore, the late Dinesh Sitoula, who made invaluable contributions to journalism, was specially honored with a cash prize of fifty thousand rupees.
