RPP Chairman Lingden's Central Committee Meeting Sees Dozens of Absences

Kathmandu. Dozens of officials and central members, including three former chairmen of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), were absent from the central committee meeting called by party chairman Rajendra Lingden.

According to central member Janakraj Pathak, former chairmen Pashupati Shamsher Rana, Prakashchandra Lohani, and Kamal Thapa were not present at the meeting. Similarly, Vice Chairman Vikram Pandey, General Secretary Kunta Kumari Shahi, Joint General Secretaries Rabindra Pratap Shah and Rina Gurung, Assistant General Secretaries Prem Balayar and Srishti Devkota, and Assistant Spokesperson Pravin Thoker also did not participate in the meeting.

Those boycotting the meeting also include Bagmati Province Chairman Vikram Bahadur Thapa, Lumbini Province Chairman Pradip Uday, and Karnali Province Chairman Deep Bahadur Shahi. Likewise, working committee members Jayanta Chand, Arjun Rai, and Haribahadur Basnet were also absent from the meeting.

Elected central members Pathak, Gopal Poudel, Nanu NagarKoti, Manju Karki, Basanta Shahi, Shivshankar Yadav, Babita Shahi, Suryabahadur Singh, Deepak Khanal, Deepak Kumar Mall, Satyabahadur Shahi, Angnima Sherpa, Lal Kumar Lama, Bharat Pathak, Kedar Koirala, Uma Thapa, Inu Adhikari, Gangamaya Tamang, Kulbahadur Gurung, Pooja Rana, Govinda Khadayat, Radheshyam Saha, Birendralal Karna, Sunil Saha, Jagat Gauchan, Rajaram Shrestha, Bhola Saha, and Samriddhi Rana also did not participate in the meeting, it has been informed.

Central member Pathak stated that they did not attend the meeting due to dissatisfaction with Chairman Lingden calling people who were not relevant to the meeting. 

This dissatisfaction within the party has become public while the RPP's central committee meeting is ongoing. A few weeks ago, General Secretary Dhawalshamsher Rana had also left the party. Currently, leaders have boycotted the meeting. Amidst the meeting boycott, the meeting is being held in the capital under Lingden's leadership on Friday.
