RPP Central Committee Meeting Begins Amidst Participation Dispute

Kathmandu. The central committee meeting of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has started today. A dispute has arisen within the party regarding the issue of participation even before the meeting began. 

Dissatisfied groups within the party have boycotted the meeting, accusing Chairman Rajendra Lingden of trying to include individuals who have not received authority according to the party's constitution. Dissatisfaction has grown within the party, citing that all individuals who became candidates in the election held on Falgun 21 have been called to the meeting. The chairs of former chairman Prakash Chandra Lohani, former chairman Kamal Thapa, and senior leader and vice-chairman Vikram Pandey are empty at the inaugural session.  

The dispute has escalated over the issue of including about 65 people from Kamal Thapa's faction in the meeting called at Surya Catering in Dhumbaraahi. The dissatisfied faction has argued that the participation of individuals other than elected or nominated central committee members in the central committee meeting is against the established methods, procedures, and organizational recognition of the party.

Regarding this matter, Vice-Chairman Vikram Pandey, General Secretary Kunti Shahi, Member Arjun Rai, and former chairmen Kamal Thapa, Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani, and Pashupati Shamsher Jabra drew Chairman Lingden's attention in the working performance committee meeting held on Thursday. 

They urged that individuals other than central committee members should not be included in the meeting. General Secretary Dhawalshamsher Rana stated that this meeting, to be held amidst the political situation arising after the party's separation, is considered important from the perspective of RPP's future leadership and organizational direction.
