Three Arrested in Sarlahi Land Dispute Incident

Sarlahi. Police have arrested three people on charges of vandalizing a vehicle and creating a disturbance at a police station in connection with a land dispute in Ishworpur Municipality-15, Sarlahi.

After the Sarlahi District Court ordered that Kalika Upreti should not be prevented from occupying the land of undisputed possession and ownership, Upreti went to occupy his land. Police said that Upreti's vehicle was vandalized when some individuals obstructed him and he went to the Area Police Office, Kesharaganj for a discussion regarding peace and security.

According to the police, the individuals involved in the incident pelted stones at the police and also attempted to vandalize the main gate of the Area Police Office, Kesharaganj.

Police spokesperson DSP Ved Prasad Gautam of the District Police Office, Sarlahi, informed that Binod Kadariya, 32, from Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-11, Bara, currently residing in Suknaha, Ishworpur-15, along with Jayaprasad Gautam, 62, and his 36-year-old son Ujjwal Gautam, both from the same place, have been arrested on charges of involvement in the incident.

Police stated that an investigation is underway with a six-day extension of the detention period, effective from Asar 2, for a case of criminal disturbance against them. Police also informed that the search for other individuals involved in the incident and further investigation are ongoing.
