Iranian Newspapers Celebrate Victory After US-Iran Deal

Tehran. After signing the agreement to end the war between America and Iran, major newspapers in Iran have published news with a sense of victory. Many newspapers have claimed that the military strategy of American President Donald Trump has failed. 

The daily newspaper Javane, considered close to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), mentioned in its main headline that America has faced a 'glorious defeat'. The newspaper wrote that although Israel and America started the war with a big objective, Iran has ultimately emerged as more powerful than expected.

The state-backed daily Hamshahri presented US President Trump on its front page with a picture of him chewing torn paper. The main headline of the newspaper reads 'Flew away with the wind', which is a popular Persian idiom meaning that a plan or effort has been completely wasted.

The conservative and influential newspaper Kayhan wrote a harsher message in its headline. 'The State of Hormuz is our weapon of resistance: we cannot compromise with the power we rely on,' the newspaper's headline stated. 

Another major daily newspaper Sajadegi has prioritized potential economic benefits. The newspaper wrote '300' in large letters on its front page, making the reconstruction fund of 300 billion US dollars proposed in the agreement the main subject.
