Man Arrested with Brown Heroin in Jhapa

Birtamod. One person from Birtamod has been arrested with brown heroin from Mechinagar of Jhapa. A joint team of the Narcotics Control Bureau Office Kakadvitta and Area Police Office Kakadvitta arrested 30-year-old Vishnu Singh Rajbanshi, a resident of Birtamod Municipality-7, from the old Mechi bridge area in Mechinagar-6 this afternoon.

According to the District Police Office, Rajbanshi, who was walking towards Nepal from India, was checked on suspicion and found to have a sticky substance resembling brown heroin weighing five grams and 40 milligrams, excluding the plastic. The person has been taken into custody at the Area Police Office Kakadvitta with the seized drugs.

The police said that further investigation into the incident is underway. The police have stated that they have intensified surveillance and checks to control drug trafficking in the eastern border areas of Jhapa.
