Police Form Six-Member Committee to Investigate Bus Accident

Kathmandu. A six-member investigation committee has been formed by the Nepal Police Headquarters to investigate the facts of the bus accident that occurred on Friday in Buchakot, Namobuddha Municipality-2, Kavrepalanchok.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki has formed the committee under the convenership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kamal Thapa, chief of Nepal Police Province Office, Panauti.

The committee members include DSP Rabin Bisht, Information Officer of District Police Office Kavre, DSP Ganga Saru of Nepal Police Highway Security and Traffic Management Office Chitwan, Police Inspector Dinesh Kharel of Bagmati Province Police Office Hetauda, Police Havildar Basudev Khadka of Area Police Office Devitar Mahabharat Kavrepalanchok.

A committee has been formed with Police Senior Sub-Inspector Tank Shivakoti of District Traffic Police Office, Kavrepalanchok as the member secretary. The police have stated that the committee has been tasked with identifying the actual condition, cause, and responsible parties of the accident and submitting a report within seven days.

8 people died and 16 people were injured in the accident. The Prime Minister's Office had directed to form an investigation committee regarding the incident on Friday itself.
