Man Bahadur Nepali Warns Gagan Thapa on Party's Weakening

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress's former central member Man Bahadur Nepali has drawn the attention of party president Gagan Kumar Thapa, stating that the internal dispute has weakened the Congress in its history. In an 'Open Letter to the President' on social media, Nepali mentioned that although the dispute appears resolved legally, emotional unity among party workers has not been achieved.

Nepali also warned President Thapa that the opportunity to lead a unified Congress is slipping away. He argued that the infighting between two factions within the party has created disillusionment among voters and workers, ultimately pushing them towards parties like UML, Maoist, or other forces.

The letter criticized the leadership for trying to emulate the election-winning style of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). 'Seeing the RSP's votes and their way of winning elections, it's pathetic to see the imitation where the party doesn't need leaders and workers, only the public is enough,' Nepali wrote. 'As long as there is no organization built on sacrifice, struggle, and contribution, the party is like a house of glass that shatters and perishes from a minor blow.'

Questioning the impartiality of the party's 15th General Convention, Nepali accused the establishment faction of acting unilaterally without forming a dialogue team. He expressed dissatisfaction on social media, stating that workers are fighting amongst themselves and the leadership is engaged in politics of threats, punishment, and assurances. 'Behavior that suggests you are not needed in this Congress is a serious threat to party unity,' Nepali wrote.

Commenting on the 'raid-style' mistreatment of the working committee elected from the 14th General Convention, Nepali stated that President Thapa will bear the moral responsibility for any future political accidents in history. Nepali advised the president to free himself from factional interests and entourages and prioritize the organization.
