Former MP Chhiring Lamu Lama Resigns from All NCP Responsibilities

Kathmandu. Former Member of Parliament Chhiring Lamu Lama has announced her separation from all responsibilities of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN). Citing extreme prohibition, insult, and widespread conspiracy within the party, she has decided to remain independent. 

In a long statement published on social media Facebook, she revealed that she had to endure countless pains throughout her tenure due to the narrow-mindedness of the party's leadership.

Lama, who became a proportional member of parliament from the then CPN (Maoist Centre) in the previous term, clarified that she can no longer move forward with a criminal mentality that cannot accept the existence, capability, and contribution of anyone other than herself. She mentioned that she wants to be free from an environment that prohibits the ideas of the youth and suppresses the voices of the new generation. She claimed that attempts to weaken her self-confidence and politically and personally destroy her were repeatedly made within the party, but she was able to face those conspiracies only due to her self-confidence and fighting spirit.

While acknowledging that some may call her opportunistic and criticize her after this decision, she urged them to study her background, struggles, and journey within the party before accusing her of opportunism. She stated that any responsibility she has received so far was not sought or pressured but was placed on her shoulders by time, and she fulfilled it with honesty. She expressed her belief that time will ultimately decide whether she is right or wrong.

Stating that the decision to leave the party was not her wish but a compulsion, she wrote on Facebook, 'A victim and a perpetrator cannot stay under the same roof for a long time. After the injustice, atrocities, and prohibition by some individuals crossed the limit, today's decision has become my compulsion, not my wish. My existence, built on the foundation of honesty, cannot survive by compromising with a criminal mentality.' She concluded that as someone who set out with the resolve to change society and the country, choosing her own path is the right decision rather than enduring insult and inhumane treatment.

Stating that she still has a long journey and struggle ahead, she clarified that she wants to carry out her future struggles with freedom and self-respect every day, rather than being a victim of conspiracy. She thanked the narrow-minded, intolerant, and prohibitive politics that forced her to make this decision, commenting that it has made her understand the value of freedom even more deeply.

MP Lama expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Karnali Province Party, the Central Party, and all the leaders, cadres, and well-wishers who continuously supported, trusted, and encouraged her throughout her journey. Finally, she apologized if her behavior, words, or style of work hurt anyone's feelings and sought forgiveness for her weaknesses or mistakes, declaring that from now on, she will live with independent thought, self-respect, and the breath of freedom.
