Senior Vice President Mohan Dangi Supports Uttam Bholan Lama's Team for IPPAN Leadership

Kathmandu. Independent Power Producers' Association Nepal (IPPAN) Senior Vice President Mohan Dangi has stated that the upcoming leadership must focus on bringing the policy reforms and legal arrangements in the energy sector into full implementation.

Speaking at a special program organized in the capital, he emphasized that the upcoming leadership should focus on further policy reforms in the energy sector.

According to the current bylaws of IPPAN, the Senior Vice President automatically becomes the President. As per this provision, Dangi is set to become the new President of IPPAN in a few days. Senior Vice President Dangi has announced his open support for the team led by Uttam Bholan Lama, who is contesting the upcoming IPPAN election for the post of Senior Vice President. Clarifying that he will cast his vote for that team, he publicly urged all other voters in the energy sector to support Lama's team.

Highlighting the need for capable leadership to make the energy sector disciplined, organized, and result-oriented, Dangi stated that the energy sector is currently facing significant challenges. He expressed confidence that in such a complex time, experienced and capable leadership is necessary, and looking at the current election race, Lama's team can effectively advance the pressing issues of the energy sector.

Revealing his vote, he said at the program, 'Until today, we were trying to select leadership by consensus, but today I feel I must clarify where I will cast my vote. I also have voting rights, and I want to openly state whom I will give my vote to. I don't want to ask for many votes, but my vote will go to the team led by Uttam Bholan Lama. After being present here today and having heard their presentations and perspectives in various programs before, I have decided to give my vote to this team.'

Clarifying his stance as a leader, Dangi stated that Lama's team has committed to prioritizing the dignity, code of conduct, and professional values of the association. He advised that one must always remember that when pointing a finger at others, four fingers point back at oneself, and one must first improve oneself and move forward by making the organization disciplined. He claimed that experienced, capable, and knowledgeable teams are needed amidst such challenges, and Uttam Bholan Lama's team can lead this sector in the right direction.

Senior Vice President Dangi emphasized the need to further strengthen the code of conduct, professional dignity, and institutional culture within IPPAN. He stated that all stakeholders in the energy sector should introspect in time and focus on institutional reforms.
