85,420 Afghans Returned from Iran and Pakistan in May-June

Kathmandu. According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), a total of 85,420 Afghans returned to their home country from neighboring countries Iran and Pakistan during the period of May 24 to June 6, Tolo News reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, about 44,596 people entered Afghanistan from Iran during this period, while another 40,824 returned from Pakistan.

The IOM, the body that regulates cross-border movement of citizens, has been continuing to provide humanitarian assistance and security services to returnees and at-risk people, the report states.

Afghanistan has recently been able to maintain stability in the condition of returning citizens amidst economic challenges and regional migration trends.
