Two Arrested in Sarlahi for Attacking Police and Fleeing with Tractor

Malangwa. Police have taken into custody two individuals involved in an incident where duty police personnel were assaulted and a tractor involved in an accident fled the scene. They have been arrested on charges of obstructing police action and creating a mob disturbance.

According to Bed Prasad Gautam, spokesperson and information officer at the Sarlahi District Police Office, a truck numbered Na 6 Kha 7623 was parked on the Malangwa road section in Kabailasi Municipality Ward No. 8, Argawa, around 9 PM on Jestha 25. A local police team rushed to the scene after receiving information that a tractor numbered Ja 1 Ta 2550 had collided with the moving truck.

The police were investigating the accident after stopping the tractor. At that point, a group of 20 to 25 people, led by the tractor owner, Ashok Kumar Yadav, approximately 50-55 years old, residing in Kabailasi Municipality Ward No. 10, Salemapur, Sarlahi, suddenly assaulted the duty police personnel. They beat up the police, injured them, and forcibly took the tractor under investigation before fleeing.

Immediately following the incident, a special police team from Haripur Area Police Office and Sarlahi District Police Office was deployed for further investigation and to search for the involved individuals. During the search, the police arrested Vikram Kumar Yadav, 19, and Priyanshu Yadav, 21, both residing in Salemapur, Kabailasi Municipality Ward No. 10, for obstructing police and creating a mob disturbance.

The arrested individuals were presented at the Sarlahi District Administration Office on Jestha 26, and an eight-day remand was granted for the offense of indecent behavior. Further investigation is underway at the Sarlahi District Police Office, Malangwa, while they are in custody, police said. Efforts are intensifying to find the main planner of the incident, tractor owner Ashok Kumar Yadav, and other individuals who assaulted the police.
