Chimpanzee Care Fund Donation and Environmental Initiatives at Kathmandu Zoo

Kathmandu. The Prabhushumsher and Raji Rana Fund has provided Rs 1 million for the upkeep of the chimpanzee kept at the Central Zoo. The Central Zoo has stated that the fund has been providing the same amount of assistance every year for the past four years. The fund has also provided a check worth Rs 1.5 million to operate the 'Historical 3D Lion Cage Museum' at the zoo.

Fund Chairman Raji Rana handed over the amount to Zoo Chief Satyanarayan Saha on Friday on the occasion of World Environment Day.

Meanwhile, rhododendron saplings were planted at the zoo on the occasion of World Environment Day. On Friday itself, office chief Saha presented awards to 25 students of 'Friends of Zoo' for their excellent contribution to environmental conservation.
