KP Sharma Oli Claims September 8-9 Events Were Premeditated

Kathmandu. CPN UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the events of Bhadra 23 and 24 were planned. Addressing a two-day national workshop on 'Membership Renewal and Expansion Motivation' organized by the Central Organization Department in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Oli said so.

He described the two-day event as a conspiracy to murder youths, calling it a planned and conspiratorial event.

'Some call the movement of Bhadra 23 and 24 a movement and some call it a revolution. Those who did it would call it a revolution. Those who conspired to murder youths have been calling it a revolution,' said Oli, who is also a former Prime Minister. 'After eating the cucumber oneself, the seeds are hung around another's neck.' Chairman Oli said that the National Human Rights Commission's report also mentions in its summary that the event was conspiratorial and pre-planned.

Oli said that his government, led by him, was in a strong constitutional democratic position, and when attempts to destabilize that government through various constitutional, legal, and parliamentary means failed, a conspiracy was hatched to displace it through criminal means. 'For that, trainings were held. Attempts were made on how to set fires, how to make petrol bombs,' he added, saying that anarchy still persists. 'Acts like treason and arson have been easily accepted.'

Stating that the attack on UML was because UML led the democratic movement, he said that the country is paramount and everyone needs to understand this.
