Mahanagar Yatayat Launches 16 New Electric Buses

Kathmandu. Mahanagar Yatayat Pvt. Ltd. has brought 16 more electric buses into operation. Shishila Motors Pvt. Ltd. handed over the electric buses to Mahanagar Yatayat Pvt. Ltd. in Kathmandu on Wednesday. 

The new electric buses, with a capacity of 33 seats, are designed to be comfortable for standing passengers as well, it has been stated. The buses, imported from China, use a 144-kilowatt capacity CITL battery, and Mahanagar Yatayat has stated that they can travel 200 kilometers on a single full charge. 

At the service launch program for the new buses, Mahanagar Yatayat Pvt. Ltd. Secretary Keshav Nepal informed that there is no alternative to electric vehicles in the coming days and that Mahanagar Yatayat will further expand this service. Mahanagar Yatayat Pvt. Ltd. has informed that it is already operating 52 electric vehicles, including 28 city buses and 24 microbuses.
