Three Dead in Dailekh Jeep Accident

Dailekh. A Bolero jeep going from Surkhet to Kalikot met with an accident in Bhairavi Rural Municipality of Dailekh on Monday, killing three people. 

The double-cab Bolero with number Su.Pa.01–001 Cha 4964 fell off the road in the inner road section of Kaligaunda, Bhairavi Rural Municipality–7, around 1 PM. The police said the vehicle suddenly lost its brakes while running and fell about 400 meters down the road. According to Santosh Rokaya, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Dailekh, the accident killed 36-year-old driver Kal Bahadur Rokaya of Shuvakalika Rural Municipality–5, Kalikot, 39-year-old Mitra Sunar of Ward No. 4 of the same rural municipality, and 60-year-old Pultisara BK of Ward No. 6. They were taken to the District Hospital Dailekh for treatment, where doctors declared them dead. Five other passengers were seriously injured in the accident. The injured have been identified as Chakra Sunar, Bharat BK, Kalam Sunar, Sumat BK, and Nain Sunar of Shuvakalika Rural Municipality, Kalikot. Sumat and Nain's condition is critical, so they have been referred to the Provincial Hospital Surkhet for further treatment, while others are being treated at the District Hospital Dailekh.

Immediately after the incident, a joint team deployed from Bhairavi Police Post, Panipokhari, Dullu Area Police Office, and the District Police Office rescued the injured. The police stated that further investigation into the accident is underway.
